Facebook reported the BBC to the police after the broadcaster sent it copies of sexually explicit images of children. At Facebook's request, 100 images were sent to it by a BBC journalist as examples of pictures which Facebook had not removed from its site. It then removed the images but reported the BBC to the police saying that the act of sending them was itself against the law.
