What are the new charges for diesel cars in London?

  • The Central London Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will start on 8 April 2019. It will operate all day every day and will mean a £12.50 charge on pre-2016 diesels and on pre-2006 petrol cars, on top of the £11.50 congestion charge.

  • In 2020, the ULEZ will be expanded London-wide for buses, coaches and lorries

  • In 2021, the ULEZ will expand to the north and south circular roads.
