What did the US President tell the US ambassador in a meeting in the Oval Office?
It is alleged that Donald Trump told the Russian ambassador and foreign minister classified information relating to ISIS's plan to put bombs on passenger planes. The information had been obtained by one of the US's allies, but was so sensitive that it had not been approved to be spread widely - and certainly not with Russia. There are fears that revealing the information could limit the US's ability to gather intelligence about future threats. The White House denies the story - Trump's national security adviser H R McMaster said that no intelligence sources or methods were discussed. That, however, is not the substance of the allegation, which was reported first in the Washington Post.
